How we see Fragrance
Every Kyrra Fragrance is inspired by a place. We try to recreate the scent memory of that adventure and how it makes us feel.
We then describe some feelings or characteristics- some of our scents are bright and uplifting, some more mellow and calming.
And lastly, we explain what plants we use.
All of our fragrances are made only from 100% natural pure essential oils. We only use steam distilled or cold pressed ingredients, nothing processed with solvents or other nasty chemicals.
Provenance is highly important to us. We recognise that many plants are harvested in parts of the world where communities are poor and there aren't many ways to earn a livelihood. We actively source oils from small tribal producers that are independently certified as being organic and/or sustainably harvested- contributing to environmental stewardship as well as providing livelihoods and fair wages for those living in the developing world.
These ingredients are difficult to come by and often very expensive, but we believe not only is this the right thing to do, but that the quality gives our products a depth and luxury of fragrance that can't be matched in any other way

Our Range
Astín
Astín is our newest fragrance, and the second in our dýr range of exceptionally precious fragrances
​
Norse for "My Love", Astín is a romantic, warm and relaxing blend inspired by a Berber village in the High Atlas mountains of Morocco
​
Notes of the mountainside meadow are captured with certified organic Madagascan rose geranium, wild harvested Moroccan chamomile and English lavender. Certified organic Madagascan ylang ylang and certified organic wild harvested Somali frankincense add notes reminiscent of the traditional perfumes worn by the women in the village, and the mystique of the desert below
​
Astín is also our first fragrance specifically formulated with fertility and pregnancy in mind. It contains no ingredients advised to be avoided during these sensitive times, and the aromatherapy benefits aid relaxation and sleep

Freyr
Freyr is the Norse god of abundance and good harvest, a fitting name for our first 100% certified organic fragrance. Perfect all year round, a grounding and relaxing scent with ingredients clinically proven to improve mood and enhance relaxation and calm
​
Made with sustainably wild harvested Angolan basil and Eucalyptus, our fragrances not only provide employment for pickers in poor rural communities, but also skilled processing jobs in areas where skilled employment is hard to come by.
​
Our Atlas cedar is sustainably harvested and extracted from waste wood from the forestry industry, and our red mandarins are ripened in the Italian sunshine and cold pressed for maximum fragrance. We doubt a more wholesome and feel-good fragrance exists anywhere!

Glasir
Glasir is Norse for "Grove". Our most peppy and uplifting fragrance- bright notes of citrus, fresh mint and a herbal warmth from sustainably wild harvested Spanish marjoram, all rounded off with basenotes of Ho wood- a sustainably harvested alternative to rosewood

Designed to make you feel like you're out for a sunny walk in the Italian lakes, we recommend this as a great Spring/Summer fragrance, although of course you can enjoy it whenever you want to be reminded of Summer holidays (who wouldn't?!)

Heila
Heila is Norse for "healing". Our most relaxing fragrance. Inspired by hot springs in Kyoto, a gentle spicy and herbal blend with palmarosa, ginger and lavender. Perfect for meditation, yoga or a relaxing bath.

As part of our mission to support livelihoods in the poorest parts of the world, Heila is now made with sustainably wild harvested Haitian amyris. This soothing, gently woody fragrance is a sustainable alternative to sandalwood, and Haiti is known for producing some of the best on the planet.

Kjarr
Kjarr is norse for "Forest Clearing". A really lush and vibrant fragrance, perfect to pick up your mood or relax with in the bath. Inspired by an Indonesian rainforest at dawn, exotic notes of ylang ylang and patchouli bring a warm body to the scent, with fresh leafiness from petitgrain and a gentle zing from lemon verbena

As part of our mission to support the best producers from some of the most impoverished communities, we are proud to now use certified organic and sustainably wild harvested Madagascan patchouli in Kjarr. This is recognised as being some of the finest patchouli grown anywhere on Earth.

Reykr
Reykr is norse for "Smoke". Perfect for smoky fragrance lovers, this really delivers on the campfire fragrance often lacking in synthetic versions

A skilful blend of forest elements, genuine birch tar provides that unmistakable campfire feeling while sustainably harvested French elemi uplifts the blend with a spicy topnote

Wassail
Perfect for those looking for a sophisticated, natural but unmistakably Christmassy scent
​
Named after the traditional festive drink, Wassail contains clove, nutmeg and cinnamon along with cedar leaf to provide a fresh hint of foliage and a twist of sweet orange to remind of candied peel. Rounding off the blend is a generous note of olibanum- a rare and prized form of frankincense, and one of the first ever Christmas presents.

And, to make it even more special, Wassail is now made with certified organic sustainably wild harvested Somali olibanum- supporting livelihoods and good environmental stewardship in some of the world's poorest communities

Eventyr
Eventyr is Norse for Adventure. Inspired by a village at the edge of an Arabian desert, our most expensive and opulent fragrance goes to a whole new level when it comes to using ingredients generally thought to be too luxurious to use in a candle.
​
Eventyr is not bold but it is unmistakably present. It is the epitome of understated luxury. With top notes of bright hyssop, a core of warm smoky vetiver and woody frankincense, notes of Paraguayan cabreuva and a base of rich and treacly Somali opoponax.

Eventyr is available in strictly limited quantities
