Packaging and Recycling

All you need to know about our packaging

Recycling Cardboard

CANDLES

The information on outer packaging below relates to our core range. For detailed recycling information on our organic candle packaging, please refer to the "our organic candles" page. Instructions on glass vessel recycling are the same for all of our candles (though for the organic range, you also have the option of refilling instead of recycling!)

Our candles are packaged in an outer recycled card box, and printed card sleeve which is made from 80% recycled and 20% FSC certified pulp mix . The glass vessel is protected with a recycled card honeycomb sleeve.

These can all be recycled again in your household card recycling. They are all designed to easily flatten down and don't take up much space

The glass vessels are completely recyclable, but they do need to be cleaned first

There are various ways to do this- just please make sure you do it safely!

You can pop the candle vessel in a bowl of hot water, or in the oven on low heat (60-70 degrees) for 10 minutes, then pour out the residual wax into the bin (not the sink or drain) and wipe out the vessel, including the metal wick base and small sticky pad, or the biodegradable glue dot in our most recently manufactured candles

Alternatively, you can put the candle jar in the freezer for a few hours, then eke out the hard wax with a knife or spoon

Please be careful to ensure that you don't touch anything when it's too hot, and use any knives or sharp implements carefully

The bottom safety label is made from recycled paper and will wash off during the recycling process so you don't need to remove that

Likewise, the printed logo on the side of the candle can be left in situ and doesn't impact the recycling process

If you have ordered your candle from us online, all of the outer packaging can also be recycled with your household paper and card collection.
