We made the world's best candle!

OK, so there's no such thing as "the world's best candle"- but this is as close as it gets

When creating Freyr, I just wanted to make the most sustainable candle possible

No expense spared

Every detail thought through from start to finish

Every ingredient, every element

Obviously we needed an amazing fragrance. And I wanted everything to be 100% certified organic. But it was important where the ingredients were sourced from too- I wanted something that really made a difference. So 50% of the fragrance is sourced from small tribal communities in Angola where there's very little access to good jobs. Not only that, but the primary processing facility is in Angola- investing in high quality jobs and education for local people- upskilling, and protecting the environment.

Next- the wax. Made in the UK, it's made from a combination of sustainably harvested plants and organic European beeswax- pollinator positive and contributing to biodiversity. And no nasty soy beans in sight (we're not a fan!)

Then the packaging- what would it come with? Recycling is pretty good. But that still takes energy. What if our packaging itself could be something useful? Something you really want, not just want to throw away? That's the theme of our organic range. And so, we developed packaging that's completely plantable. Not just compostable, but grows into a wildflower garden. A cradle made from mycelium and straw, a card made from recycled paper and embedded with British wildflowers and, of course, biodegradable glue

Obviously the vessel itself had to be recyclable- but also refillable

And so Freyr was born

And then I thought- I wonder what others will think?

I could submit it to a competition as the most environmentally friendly candle
